WRV Closes - Alpenlite Travel Club Goes Forward With Plans For Scheduled 2008 Events!

WRV has closed its doors and has suspended operations. The first obvious question for our members is just what this means to the Alpenlite Travel Club. Let us assure you that the ATC is continuing to do business as usual. No events on our calendar are affected and all Regional Rallies, Alpenfest, Fiddler Rally, Seafood Caravan, Balloon Fiesta Rally, and Fall Leaf Festival will be put on as scheduled. The ATC operates, is incorporated, and is insured separate from WRV thus their closure does not impact our day to day operations. However, this does mean the loss of a substantial amount of our income in the dues-support matching dollars of membership dues that the ATC received from WRV. This has an immediate impact on the ATC and will be the key topic of discussion at the annual meeting at Alpenfest. This issue has the full attention of the board which is working to develop and outline ideas and address a plan.

Every rumor imaginable is running across newspapers and the internet. In many of these owners have added "personal" injections that are unsubstantiated and we encourage all of you to refrain from taking part in the spread of these rumors until we actually know the facts. As details become available we will share them with you. Please keep in mind those unfortunate people who are strongly affected by this closure. These people have home mortgages and children in school.

If you did not receive an e-mail message containing this information, it is because the ATC office does not have a current e-mail address for you. Please submit a change of e-mail request so we can update our records and you will receive future notices.

Unrelated to the WRV closure but certainly with "bad timing," the ATC office will be closed beginning at 1 p.m. Pacific Daylight Savings Time on Tuesday and will reopen at 8 a.m. on May 11. Please leave a message on our phone only if you have an emergency that needs response at our earliest opportunity. All phone and e-mail messages will be responded to beginning May 11. This closure is necessary because we planned long ago to take personal time off to participate in the ATC Panama Canal cruise. While we are away ATC President Dick Duyck will be available to assist you in any way he can. Dates Changed For Alpenfest 2008

It has become necessary to move this event forward in our calendar by three days - arriving on Wednesday, June 4 (changed from Saturday, June 7th arrival) and departing on Monday, June 9 (changed from Thursday, June 12 departure).

The 125 sites reserved for Alpenfest are almost gone!
